A Sweet Buy for $10

A couple of weeks ago I saw this game on the cheap shelves for $10.00. I have owned this game since it came out, and was a little surprised to see it going for so cheap.

The game starts off with your family getting taken into the new world as slaves to pay off a debt, and you enlisting with a nation's (French, English, Dutch, or Spanish) navy. Along the way to the Caribbean, your crewmates mutiny and elect you captain. You start off with a small ship and are free to roam the New World at will in a totally open-ended game that will provide hours and hours of fun.

The gameplay is relatively intuitive yet extremely addicting and fun. You command your crew and can capture ships, plunder them, and take them as your own. Your fleet can consist of several ships. You can sail from port to port and hire crew members in the tavern, earn promotions from the governor, and even get invited to the grand ball by the governor's daughter.

There are also other aspects of the game such as dueling, finding buried treasure, and rescuing your lost family members.

If you've got some time to kill, head over to the store and pick up a copy. Verified.

Book Review

I've had to read this book for school, but I think it would be very interesting to anybody who has any interest in history. It's also been adapted into a miniseries for HBO, which is definitely worth watching on its own.
